The one where I do a bit of this and a bit of that!

Well, Well, Well! We're in this situation again! I'm blogging and I've got a lot to talk about! I've been fairly busy since the last time we've spoken and I've even done a bit of painting... I KNOW!!!

But first, in true Monty Python Style, time for something completely different...

HELL YEAH! I went there! @NinjaNathUK actually found this little gem so it's him you need to thank that your eyes have now melted over the keyboard!!!

Back to reality...

I have a few things to blog about and it seems the ideal time to do it! As you may be aware, I predominately play 2 games systems: 40k and Malifaux. I do dabble in the square based heresy they call Fantasy but very rarely! The two games systems I've been working on have presented new challenges for me with different armies/crews to work on over the past few weeks. Before I go in to my painting spree, here is Nige's effort on my Wrastel! (@NigelSBartlett)

More than impressed it's fair to say! Can't wait to use it on the tabletop come Pubfaux! I do need to get practicing soon with the crew so I'm hoping that I get some more models back in the next week or so! But I think you'll agree, it's a little bit special!

Right, let's talk about me...again! Since we're on the Malifaux topic I might as well stick to it...
As you may know, or not as I haven't blogged about it in a while, I have a vast Ten Thunders collection which is going to get larger with the new Fuhatsu model *drool*! But I wanted to play another faction with a different feel to it. I've always loved models that will go up and smash people in the face... Misaki! But I am partial to figures who manipulate others...sounds a bit like my ex...
I went then for Pandora and her crew because there is something about a bird with a box which just gets my juices flowing... Again, this is really sounding like an ex...
I do also love the Dreamer crew and their figures. Well, since I know nothing about Neverborn, I thought I'd give it a go! Why not whack the two together and see what comes of it! That is exactly what I did!

 I've got the box set of Pandora and Teddy...what a model! Also, the dreamer crew and three Alps! I really like the Lord Chompy model and the imagery of this creature getting dreamed out of thin air is just awesome! I want to rebase the Dreamer models with a cobblestone design but through pure laziness and lack of thought I haven't managed to get my ass up and look in my base box for them! Tomorrow... !

So last night I picked up the paintbrush and got to work on the Pandora crew! I had an idea of how this could go but I wasn't sure of some of the details. I made a good start to Candy, Kane, Pandora and the 3 Sorrows, as well as splashing a bit of colour on Teddy!
I was really pleased with the result of Candy and Pandora hasn't come out bad either!

If I can get the basing done this week I don't think they'd look half bad as a crew! I do need to get Pandora's totem done too!
I have got the Hamelin crew from the outcasts but I don't really have a desire to play these, just paint them! Again, another thing in Malifaux where the models are awesome! Yes, they are the old style but still, pretty good! Can't wait to see what they do with the plastics!

A lot to look forward to with Malifaux, I just hope that soon I can take part in something local that I can practice with my minis! I wanted to look at Tale of Malifaux Bloggers and partake in their challenge but I'm not sure what the criteria is... a little bit of research is required I think and then I can make a start on in my next blog!

Now, on to the next item on the list: 40k!
You may know I have been toying with lists which involve different armies and I settled on Chaos. Now, I've been looking at different combos within the Chaos spectrum and sort of settled on a list which would be fairly effective. I do need to try it out against a willing victim...I mean... no, I've got nothing - victim it is!

The list looks something like this:
Lord, Mark of Khorne, Axe of Blind Fury, Burning Brand, Juggernaut.
10 Cultists
13 Cultists
15 Cultists
Heldrake
Heldrake
5 Spawn
Maulerfiend
Maulerfiend
2 Obliterators
Destroyer Lord (with something I can't remember)
5 Warriors in a Scythe
6 Wraiths

Now, to the naked eye this list might look a bit scary and to the trained eye it looks scary too! Well, I think it's a nice list...a scary list which is capable of doing an all round job! The alternative solution is to have a flying monstrous daemon prince instead of the Lord! But, it's tweaking!

I've managed to get my 2 maulerfiends painted and based which I'm happy about:

I've also started work on my Heldrakes:

Okay...Heldrake! It did look a lot of work... and now I've started it is a lot of work! I would have pictures but I've deleted them off my iPad like a fucking tool! Next time I blog I will have something for you! Hopefully a finished Heldrake...or a finished top of a heldrake!
